AP Assembly Sessions: Starting Tomorrow!
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions will commence tomorrow, November 11. The state government is set to present the annual budget at 10 AM on Monday.
This will be the first full budget presented by the coalition government formed four months ago. With the current vote-on-account budget concluding at the end of November, the government is preparing to unveil the full budget on the opening day of the assembly sessions.
Notably, the opposition party YSRCP will not be attending the assembly sessions. Only the coalition partners TDP, BJP, and Janasena will participate. Former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan has announced a boycott of the assembly sessions, citing a lack of opposition status. He stated that he will address government issues through the media from his residence, arguing that his exclusion from opposition status would reduce his speaking time in the assembly.
Prior to the assembly session, a cabinet meeting will be convened under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to approve the budget for the remaining period of the financial year. The assembly meeting will follow a Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, which will determine the assembly's proceedings and minutes. The governor will address the assembly initially, after which the government will present the budget. The assembly will then be adjourned, resuming its sessions two days later. AP Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav met with the state governor on Saturday to discuss the agenda items related to the budget.
