Prakash Raj reacts on Pawan Kalyan’s views on Hindi language debate
Actor and politician Prakash Raj has responded sharply to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan’s recent remarks on the Hindi language. His reaction comes amid ongoing political debates in Tamil Nadu regarding alleged attempts by the central government to impose Hindi on non-Hindi-speaking states.
Taking to social media platform X, Prakash Raj—known for using the hashtag #justasking to challenge political statements—countered Pawan Kalyan’s views. He wrote, “Saying ‘Don’t impose your Hindi on us’ is not the same as hating another language.
It is about protecting our mother tongue and our cultural identity with pride. Can someone please explain this to Pawan Kalyan?” His post quickly went viral, sparking heated discussions online. Prakash Raj’s remarks were a direct response to Pawan Kalyan’s speech during the Jana Sena Party’s foundation day celebrations.
Addressing the controversy surrounding Hindi’s imposition, Kalyan questioned Tamil Nadu’s stance, stating, “Whenever we speak, people claim that Hindi is being forced on South India. But aren’t all Indian languages equally important? If Tamil Nadu is against Hindi, then why dub Tamil films into Hindi? They want money from Hindi-speaking states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh, they want workers from Bihar, but at the same time, they say they hate Hindi.
Is this fair? This mindset needs to change—there is no need to hate any language.” With both statements igniting strong reactions, the debate over linguistic identity and Hindi’s role in non-Hindi-speaking states continues to intensify.
