Pawan Kalyan on Jana Sena’s Prospective Expansion into Tamil Nadu
Pawan Kalyan, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the Jana Sena Party, recently commented on the party’s potential expansion into Tamil Nadu. He asserted that if the people of Tamil Nadu desire a Jana Sena presence, the party will establish itself in the state.
Praising Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin as a broad-minded leader free of vindictiveness, Kalyan acknowledged the challenges of sustaining a political party once established, emphasizing that patience is crucial in politics.
Reflecting on the political journey of film personalities, he noted that while many actors aspire to succeed in politics, only Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) managed to form a government within nine months of founding a party—a feat he described as remarkable.
Kalyan also cited Tamil Nadu stalwarts like C.N. Annadurai and M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) as his role models, underscoring that it is not popularity or financial clout, but a party’s resonating ideology that ultimately wins public support.
On the broader political landscape, Kalyan remarked that the arena is fraught with challenges, where every stakeholder becomes an opponent, and personal lives often bear the brunt of political battles.
When asked about the potential political partnership between Tamil actors Vijay and Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), he expressed uncertainty about whether their alliance or a vote-sharing arrangement among their supporters would succeed.
While the successful alliance between the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena in Andhra Pradesh serves as an encouraging example, Kalyan noted that it remains uncertain whether a similar understanding could emerge between the cadres of Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in Tamil Nadu.
