Girls outshine boys in AP Inter results

Girls outperformed boys in both the first and second year Intermediate examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP), the results of which were released on Saturday by IT and HRD minister Nara Lokesh.

In the general stream, 70 percent of first-year students cleared the exams, with girls achieving a pass percentage of 75 percent compared to 66 percent among boys. In the second year, the overall pass rate rose to 83 percent, with 86 percent of girls passing versus 80 percent of boys.

In the vocational stream, the second-year pass percentage stood at 77 percent, while the first-year figure was recorded at 62 percent. Among first-year vocational students, 71 percent of girls passed against just 50 percent of boys. In the second year, girls once again led with an 84 percent pass rate, compared to 67 percent for boys.

In a departure from the usual practice of holding a media conference, the government has released the results on an experimental basis through digital platforms. Students can access their results via the official website resultsbie.ap.gov.in or by sending a “Hi” message to the Mana Mitra WhatsApp number 9552300009.

Minister Lokesh said this initiative aims to enhance accessibility and convenience for students. He added that by simply entering their hall ticket number and date of birth, students can view their results in under two minutes on their phones. He expressed his best wishes to all students, calling the Inter results a stepping stone towards a better future.
