Home Ministry and law enforcement not under his jurisdiction
Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan said that he would apprise Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of questions raised by Delhi media regarding the Andhra Pradesh NDA government's struggle to apprehend individuals troubling them on social media.
Responding to inquiries about filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and others who allegedly failed to appear for questioning despite notices, Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the Home Ministry and law enforcement fall outside his jurisdiction. “I will not respond now to why many, including RGV, did not come for questioning despite notices.
Let the police do their job. My jurisdiction does not include the Home Ministry or law enforcement. For these questions, you must ask the Chief Minister,” said Pawan Kalyan to Delhi media on Tuesday. He assured reporters that he would inform CM Naidu of their concerns.
Pawan Kalyan criticized the previous YSRCP government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing it of financial mismanagement and lack of accountability. He alleged that Rs 9 crore was spent "just for samosas" during the YSRCP regime. "The mistakes of the previous YSRCP government are now burdens for the NDA coalition government," he remarked.
He highlighted the mismanagement of funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission, attributing delays to the YSRCP's failure to grant matching funds. Pawan pointed out design flaws in pipeline infrastructure, leading to water shortages in high-altitude areas.
“Overhead tanks and surface water resources exist, but due to design flaws, water isn’t reaching everyone. The Rural Water Supply Department must take some responsibility,” he said. On the occasion of the Constitution's Diamond Jubilee, Pawan Kalyan lauded India’s Constitution for its role in uniting the nation.
“India is a unique collection of religions, traditions, and customs, and our Constitution binds us with the feeling of oneness. It is the holy book for all Indians,” he said. He praised the NDA government's initiative to celebrate the Constitution with the slogan, ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman.
