YSR Congress Chandragiri ex-MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has the reputation of being an overtly aggressive leader in local politics.
YSR Congress Chandragiri ex-MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has the reputation of being an overtly aggressive leader in local politics. He is regarded as a right-hand man of Jagan Mohan Reddy and is said to have operated the power corridors of the CMO when Jagan was the CM.
Cut to now, Chevireddy has been named in a POCSO case that was filed against him in Tirupati and this is sending tremors down the spines of YCP leaders locally.
Going into the story, the father of a girl who remains unnamed here for privacy reasons has filed a police complaint against Chevireddy. The complaint is that Chevireddy and his men spread rumors and created a campaign that the girl was raped, while in reality, nothing as such happened.
The father filed a case against Chevireddy saying the Chandragiri ex MLA damaged the reputation of his daughter by spreading unverfiied news that she was raped. On this ground, a POCSO case was filed against Chevireddy and a few other men.
POCSO stands for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, which was passed in India in 2012. The act was created to protect children from sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography. It also aims to provide a child-friendly system for the trial of these offenses. This act is applicable for those who spread false news about children as well.
This is a pretty serious case and Chevireddy could be facing intense legal consequences if found guilty in the same.
