Amaravati divided Into 13 zones, focuses on priority areas

Andhra Pradesh government has divided the State capital Amaravati into 13 distinct zones, marking six as priority zones for accelerated development. The Amaravati Government Complex (AGC) area is divided into two key zones, while a total of 12,894 acres across these priority zones will undergo the first phase of development, with a focus on the AGC zone.

Under this zoning plan, zones 1 to 12 have been established, along with an additional zone, designated as 12A. Collaboration with the Netherlands has been secured for developing zones where canals and reservoirs will be constructed. Zones 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 10 are identified as high-priority, with two of these—Anantavaram and Sakhamuru—allocated for the state's sports policy, covering an area of 4,237.34 acres.

The proposed AGC will span across Zones 3 and 6, which include Sakhamuru, Kondamarajupalem, Rayapudi, and Lingayapalem, covering an extensive 4,241.57 acres. Meanwhile, Zone 7, spread across Lingayapalem, Uddandrayunipalem, Mandam, Thallayapalem, and Venkatapalem, will focus on tourism development initiatives across 2,060.13 acres.

Additionally, Neerukonda, Ainavolu, and Kuragallu areas, situated within the Padozone, will host educational and reservist development programs. Zone 10, encompassing 2,355.52 acres, will see the construction of the Palavagu Reservoir in Aurozone and the Kondaveetivagu Reservoir in Padozone.

Officials are planning to transform the Sakamuru pond into a tourist attraction, while recreational parks will be developed near Neerukonda as per the Amaravati Master Plan. Authorities have prioritized the development of water bodies in these zones, with plans to expedite the construction of reservoirs and gravity canals.

Tenders for various projects, including the Amaravati Seed Development Area, will be issued soon, as officials aim to complete these projects to enhance Amaravati’s urban landscape.
