Ambati Rambabu Slams TDP Government, Alleges Political Vendetta Behind Arrests

YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu launched a scathing attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government, accusing it of using arrests as a tool for political revenge and to distract from governance failures.

Speaking to the media in Tadepalli, Rambabu claimed that the arrest spree was a diversionary tactic. He particularly criticized Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy, stating, “We are not afraid of people like Vijayasai Reddy, who left our party and aligned with Chandrababu Naidu. His actions now clearly serve the TDP’s agenda.”

Rambabu condemned the arrest of senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu, calling him a dedicated officer who was wrongfully targeted. “He was on track for a promotion to Director General of Police, and this arrest reeks of vendetta for Chandrababu Naidu’s previous incarceration,” he said.

He also alleged that the arrest of Raj Kasireddy was politically motivated and linked both arrests to a cover-up of a major ₹3,000 crore asset transfer to a company named “URS,” allegedly floated by Nara Lokesh.

Addressing actress Jethwani’s arrest, Rambabu claimed legal procedures were followed but described her as a known blackmailer in Mumbai. However, he emphasized that this arrest should not be equated with the politically driven detentions of Anjaneyulu and Kasireddy.

Rambabu accused the current government of authoritarianism and questioned its disregard for judicial reprimands. “This is not governance, it’s intimidation. They act as if power is eternal, but they will be held accountable—by both the law and the people,” he said.

He also denounced the suspension of 11 police officers in the Gorantla Madhav case, calling the move unjust and demanding the resignation of the Home Minister, whom he alleged was acting under Nara Lokesh’s influence.

Concluding his remarks, Rambabu warned that the TDP government would soon face consequences for its “unlawful and disgraceful” actions: “Let’s see how long this tyranny lasts. In the end, justice will prevail.”
