Controversial Dance Step Edited Out from Robinhood Song After Backlash

Recent Telugu songs have sparked controversy over certain dance moves, especially those choreographed by star choreographer Shekhar Master. Last year, objections were raised over steps in Mister Bachchan’s “Sithar” and Pushpa 2’s “Feelings.” This year, the issue continued with Daaku Maharaj’s “Dabidi Dabidi,” and now, the latest debate surrounds the hook step in Robinhood’s “Adida Surprisu,” performed by Ketika Sharma.

Following criticism and a warning from the Women’s Commission against vulgar choreography involving women, the Robinhood team made subtle changes. In theaters today, audiences noticed that the controversial step had been edited out. Rather than replacing the entire sequence, the team cleverly reframed the shot, using a close-up of Ketika to obscure the step near her waistline.

While some young fans who anticipated the move might be disappointed, others are praising the filmmakers for their decision. With this development, choreographers may now exercise more caution in future dance sequences.
