Telangana govt releases Rs 3.3 crore exgratia for 66 gulf workers families

Former MLA and State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Anil Iravatri announced that the Telangana government has directly deposited Rs 3.3 crore in ex-gratia payments into the bank accounts of the families of 66 deceased Gulf workers. Each family received Rs 5 lakh as per Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s directive.

Anil credited Special Chief Secretary (Finance & Planning) K. Ramakrishna Rao for facilitating the fund release. Beneficiaries include 28 families in Nizamabad, 19 in Jagtial, 9 in Kamareddy, 7 in Nirmal, and 66 families each in Medak, Ranga Reddy, and Sangareddy districts.

Previously, Rs 5.15 crore was disbursed to 103 families, bringing the total ex-gratia payments for the 2024-25 financial year to Rs 8.45 crore, benefiting 169 families.
