BJP committed to Andhra’s development : Purandeswari

Andhra Pradesh is emerging from the difficulties of the last five years under the double-engine government, with the Centre fully supporting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s vision, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) AP president Daggubati Purandeswari said at the party’s state meeting on Monday.

She criticized the previous YSRCP government, accusing it of neglecting development, driving the State into a debt trap, and allowing mismanagement in key sectors. “The YSRCP regime failed to bring in investments, provide jobs, or maintain infrastructure. Roads deteriorated, and corruption thrived in the liquor and sand mining industries,” she alleged.

Purandeswari highlighted the NDA government’s contributions to Andhra Pradesh, stating that Rs 15,000 crore had been sanctioned to revive the stalled Polavaram project. Additionally, Rs 12,500 crore from ADB and Rs 11,000 crore from HUDCO were being allocated for Amaravati’s development, while Rs 4,800 crore was released for Panchayati Raj and Rs 7,200 crore as tax devolution.

She emphasized the Centre’s commitment to welfare and economic growth, citing its push for MSME support and a nationwide initiative to generate one crore jobs through India’s top 500 companies. She also praised the coordination between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Naidu, and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, stating that their alliance ensures good governance.

Addressing party workers, Purandeswari urged them to organize programs for BJP’s foundation day on April 6 and Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14 at the booth level. She also met new district presidents and in-charges to discuss institutional and political strategies.

She noted that BJP’s influence in Andhra Pradesh is growing, with over 25 lakh members and 2.18 lakh booth-level workers. “People are recognizing and blessing PM Modi’s leadership and BJP’s programs,” she asserted.
