Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that only 3.5 percent of the Polavaram Irrigation Project
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that only 3.5 percent of the Polavaram Irrigation Project has been completed between 2019 and 2024 under the previous government. He vowed to complete the project by 2027, emphasizing that his administration would prioritize its completion.
Addressing the Assembly on Wednesday, Naidu pointed out that the project had made significant progress during his tenure, with 72 percent of the work completed between 2014 and 2019. However, after the change in government in 2019, the Polavaram project faced delays, with only 3.5 percent of the work accomplished in the five years since then.
He expressed disappointment that, under the previous government, not even one percent of the work was completed annually. The Chief Minister emphasized that if the YSRCP government had maintained focus on the project, it could have been completed by 2021. Naidu reiterated that completing the Polavaram project was a top priority for his government, and he was committed to expediting its completion within the next three years.
