Pawan credits Chandrababu, Manda Krishna for SC Classification

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has stated that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Manda Krishna played a crucial role in advancing the Scheduled Caste (SC) classification issue.

During a discussion on SC classification in the Assembly on Thursday, Pawan Kalyan expressed his gratitude to Chandrababu Naidu for addressing the matter in a unified Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized that the classification should benefit all communities and congratulated Manda Krishna for his efforts in ensuring justice for the Madiga caste.

Speaking on the issue, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the significant population of the Relli community in Uttarandhra and stressed the need to continue fighting against social inequalities. He reiterated the government's commitment to social justice and fulfilling promises on SC classification.

The Chief Minister mentioned that a census is scheduled for 2026, following which SC categories will be further classified district-wise. He recalled that a committee was formed in 1996 to categorize SC communities into A, B, C, and D groups and suggested that the issue could be resolved if a resolution is passed in the Assembly and forwarded to the Centre.

Earlier, Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy presented a single-member commission’s report on SC classification before both houses of the legislature. Following this, a short discussion took place, with Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and other leaders addressing the issue.
