AP govt allocates land for key projects in Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved land allotments for various institutions, including L&T, BITS and IRCTC in the capital city of Amaravati based on the recommendations of the Group of Ministers (GoM) committee. Several educational, healthcare, and infrastructure projects have been granted land, while certain earlier allocations have been canceled or revised.

As per the new decisions, 70 acres have been allotted to Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), and 10 acres have been assigned to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the construction of an IT tower. The government has also approved a proposal by IRCTC to allocate land for building a budget hotel in the capital.

In the healthcare sector, 25 acres have been allotted to the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) for the construction of a hospital and medical college. Additionally, 8 acres have been assigned for the establishment of a HUDCO Habitat Center.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to cancel land allotments to 13 institutions that had previously applied for plots. Furthermore, the locations for 16 institutions requesting land for building construction have been altered. A significant decision was also made to revoke 42 acres previously allocated for the Mine Hub project.

To ensure timely development, the government has set deadlines for institutions that have received land allotments. Allottees must adhere to specified timeframes for initiating construction and related activities. They have also been directed to submit detailed project reports (DPRs) and obtain necessary building permits.

The conditions for these land allocations have been imposed in accordance with the Amaravati Land Allotment Rules, 2017. The principal secretary of the Municipal Administration Department has issued official orders to implement these decisions.
