Dr. K.P.C. Gandhi Appointed Honorary Forensic Advisor to Andhra Pradesh Govt

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed Dr. K.P.C. Gandhi, a renowned forensic scientist and former Director of the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory, as the Honorary Advisor (Forensic Sciences). Dr. Gandhi will hold a Cabinet Rank, and his appointment will be effective for an initial period of two years or until deemed unnecessary.

In his new role, Dr. Gandhi will play a crucial part in shaping forensic science policies and advancements within the state. His primary responsibilities include:

🔹 Technology Integration: Promoting the use of AI, biometrics, DNA sequencing, and digital forensics for crime investigation.
🔹 Training & Education: Enhancing training programs for forensic experts, law enforcement, and the judiciary.
🔹 Academic & Global Collaborations: Partnering with universities and global forensic research institutions to advance forensic science education.
🔹 Forensic Audits & Database Integration: Standardizing forensic audit procedures and improving criminal profiling with integrated forensic databases.
🔹 Advisory Reporting: Offering insights to streamline case backlogs, improve evidence handling, and ensure lab accreditation.

The Home Department has been directed to take necessary steps to implement this order.
