Para-Badminton champion seeks support from Purandeshwari
International para-badminton gold medalist Padala Rupadevi, who has excelled in the wheelchair category, met BJP State president Daggubati Purandeshwari and appealed for assistance in securing a government job to support her family and career.
Rupadevi, who is currently undergoing training in Mysore while representing Srikakulam district, has brought pride to India by clinching gold medals at international tournaments in Thailand and Uganda. Speaking during a ‘Varadhi’ program, she highlighted her family’s financial challenges and sought government support to ease her responsibilities.
Praising Rupadevi’s resilience, Purandeshwari said, "You have turned your weakness into strength and become a role model for today’s youth. Do not lose heart; your determination is inspiring." The event was attended by BJP State general secretary Bitra Shivannarayana, BJP Minority Morcha state president Sheikh Baji and other party leaders, who commended Rupadevi for her outstanding achievements and assured her of their backing.
