Not one but two North Indian states have gone to polls today, November 20th. Now that the cut-off time for the polling is done, we are slowly seeing an exodus of exit polls. Here is a look at the exit poll results pertaining to Maharashtra and Jharkhand that have come out thus far.
Maharashtra:
The famed and trusted Chanakya Exit Poll has rolled out their report and they are predicting a strong performance for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra. They project Mahayuti to win 150-160 seats in the Maharashtra assembly, which has a total of 288 seats.
People Pulse Exit Poll gave a more decisive lead to the BJP-led Mahayuti as they projected this outfit to win 175+ seats and leave only 100+ to the opposition.
Matrize Agency has also projected a close win for Mahayuti by a tally of 150-170 seats. They are predicting a tight outcome in Maharashtra this year.
Going by this trend, the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti might be retaining power in Maharashtra while the opposition Shiv Sena and NCP might continue in the same positions for another term.
Jharkhand:
Coming to the smaller state of Jharkhand, the Times Now-JVC Exit Poll for Jharkhand projects a close race. The BJP-led NDA alliance is likely to secure between 40 and 44 seats. The JMM-led INDIA alliance is expected to win between 30 and 40 seats. The NDA is projected to win the tight fight.
Chanakya Exit Polls projects NDA to win 45-50 seats in the election, with the magic figure standing at 41.
As it turns out, BJP is looking at a positive wave in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand and this must settle the nerves for the party ahead of their proposed “One-Nation-One-Election” campaign.
The counting will be done on 23rd November and we will get actual numbers pertaining to the polls then.
