Minister Narayana Discusses Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project in Legislative Council

Minister Narayana addressed the Legislative Council during the Question and Answer session regarding the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project.

The comprehensive transport plan for the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project has been submitted to the central government.

We will commence the project work as soon as we receive permission from the central authorities.

We have requested that the construction be funded entirely by the central government.

In the first phase, three corridors with a total length of 46.2 km will be constructed.

Local MLAs have also provided several proposals for this phase.

The corridors will feature 14 junctions, located in the areas of Hanumanthu Vaka, Maddelapalem, Wipro Junction, Gurudwara, and Akkayyapalem.

They have requested the construction of an 8-meter flyover in these areas, with the metro integrated onto it.

We have decided to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) as per the MLAs' requests.
