Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions announced on Friday that it has secured a Rs 513 crore order from a leading industrial conglomerate to provide two boilers for an energy project in Botswana, Southern Africa. The company will supply two CFBC (Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion) boilers over a 23-month period.
This order will support the development of a 300 MW power station in Botswana. Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions will be responsible for designing, engineering, manufacturing, testing, supply, supervision of erection & commissioning, and performance testing.
The power generated will be sold to the national utility power company to meet the country’s growing power requirement. Ashish Bhandari, Managing Director and CEO of Thermax, expressed his delight at winning the order and highlighted the company’s expertise in designing, engineering, and manufacturing environmentally friendly boilers for the power sector.
