New Generation Must Step Into Politics: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized that democratic politics has undergone significant changes worldwide and called for the new generation to actively participate in shaping the future. Speaking as the chief guest at the Bharat Summit held at HICC, Rahul noted that the political landscape of ten years ago no longer exists.

"Today’s politics is driven by modern tools like social media. The older generation of politics is fading, and the opposition is increasingly being suppressed," he said. Rahul shared that he could not attend the event earlier as he was in Kashmir, and reflected on his experience walking 4,000 kilometers during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which he said helped him better understand the pulse of the nation.

He criticized the shrinking freedom of the media and stressed the need for innovative ways to make people's voices heard. "It’s time to craft new policies on education, healthcare, and other key areas," he said.

Rahul urged the youth to engage in politics, stating, "Let’s build a new political culture in India — one that embraces diverse ideas."

Sharing a personal anecdote from the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said, "A man once came to me and said, 'I love you.' That moment made me realize the importance of spreading love and compassion. We must open shops of love in the markets of hatred."
