Anushka Shetty’s Big-Screen Return: Here’s What’s Next for the Actress

After the success of Miss Shetty & Mr. Polishetty, Anushka Shetty has been keeping a low profile. She was set to make her comeback this April with Ghaati, but delays in post-production and pending shoot work have pushed the release indefinitely. So far, neither director Krish nor production house UV Creations has shared an update.

Anushka is expected to appear in two major films this year. Following Ghaati, she will star in the Malayalam fantasy epic Kathanar: Part 1, a grand visual spectacle set for a nationwide release in multiple languages. Based on the story of 9th-century priest Kadamattathu Kathanar, who was believed to possess magical powers, Anushka plays the key role of Kaaliyan Kattu Neeli. The second part of Kathanar is expected to release in 2026.

Meanwhile, UV Creations is also planning Bhaagamathie 2, though its progress depends on Anushka’s availability. There are also strong rumors that she has signed one Telugu and one Tamil project, but no official announcements have been made yet.

Fans, who have dearly missed seeing her on screen, are eagerly hoping for her to become more active in films. Adding to the excitement, there are whispers that Anushka might reunite with Prabhas for an upcoming Hombale Films project—though it remains unconfirmed.
