Assembly will not be halt for anyone : CM Chandrababu

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu firmly stated that the Assembly meetings would not be halted for anyone.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu firmly stated that the Assembly meetings would not be halted for anyone. He made this comment in view of YSR Congress Party’s decision to not to attend Assembly. During the BAC meeting, emphasizing the need for responsible debate, he urged all members to attend and participate seriously in discussions on public issues.

Recalling his tenure as Speaker in 1995, when assembly sittings ran late into the night, Naidu reiterated that it was the duty of elected representatives to attend the sessions. He also confirmed that the Chief Whip and whips would be appointed on Tuesday. Jana Sena party leader Nadendla Manohar complimented Naidu for his disciplined approach during his time as Speaker. Schedule for the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Assembly session has been finalized, with meetings set to continue until November 22. The Assembly's Business Advisory Committee (BAC) convened to determine the session's calendar, but the meeting saw a boycott by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

Despite this, proceedings in the Assembly began this morning with Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presenting the annual budget and Minister Achchennaidu presenting the agriculture budget. Following these presentations, the session was adjourned until Wednesday, November 13. In the BAC meeting, Speaker Chintakayala Ayyannapatra, while addressing the proceedings, remarked that if YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy continues to avoid attending the sessions, the law will take its course. Ayyannapatra stressed the importance of holding the sessions with seriousness, and announced that training classes for MLAs on the budget would be held on Tuesday. The Assembly is also scheduled to meet on Saturday, with decisions made to discuss several bills and government policies, including eight bills for approval.
