CRDA approves tenders for Rs 11,467 crore projects in Amaravati

Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana announced that the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) Authority has approved the invitation of tenders for works totaling Rs 11,467 crore in the capital city. The 41st CRDA Authority meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, saw the presence ofMinister Narayana and Chief Secretary Nirab Kumar. A total of 23 items were given the green light during this meeting.
 
Among the major approvals, the authority has sanctioned the commencement of work on specific roads within the 360 km trunk roads to be constructed in the Seed Capital, with a budget allocation of Rs 2,498 crore. Furthermore, for flood prevention measures, the construction of Pala Vagu, Kondaveeti Vagu, Gravity Canal, and reservoirs was approved with a cost of Rs 1,585 crore. The authority also approved the construction of buildings for gazetted, non-gazetted, Class-4, and All India Service officers, which will require an investment of Rs 3,523 crore. Additionally, the construction of roads and infrastructure in returnable layouts for farmers will be undertaken at a cost of Rs 3,859 crore.
 
In an important step for the Happy Nest project, the authority approved revised estimates amounting to Rs 984.10 crore. The project will consist of 12 towers, each with 18 floors and 1,200 flats. Moreover, permission was granted to call fresh tenders and compensate for the Rs 270.71 crore loss caused by project delays. Minister Narayana emphasized that tenders for these projects will be invited immediately, with work slated to begin in January. Tenders for the designs of five iconic towers, as well as the Assembly and High Court buildings in the Amaravati Government Complex, have already been called, and the design process is expected to be completed by the 15th of this month. Tenders for the construction of these buildings will also be invited by the end of December.
 
Furthermore, the authority has addressed the issue of pending payments related to previously halted works. Following a report from the technical committee, the authority has approved the payment of pending bills within 120 days from the date of cancellation of agreements with the contracting agencies. The government had previously approved the technical committee's recommendations and released GEO MS 123 on November 27.
