Let’s Bring Global Recognition to Andhra Pradesh: Nara Lokesh Urges Overseas Telugus
Zurich, Switzerland: Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has called on the global Telugu diaspora to unite in elevating the state's international profile. Addressing a gathering of Telugus in Zurich on Monday evening, Lokesh emphasized the need for collective efforts in rebuilding and advancing Andhra Pradesh.
Recalling the 2019 Assembly elections, the minister praised the active involvement of overseas Telugus, many of whom took extended leave from their jobs to support election activities. “Several expatriates worked tirelessly for two months, contributing significantly to our efforts,” he said.
Lokesh urged the diaspora to continue their support, not only for the state's development but also in offering constructive political feedback. “If you ever feel we are deviating in governance, it is your responsibility to guide us back on track,” he remarked, stressing the value of open communication and collaboration with the state government.
Discussing the current challenges facing Andhra Pradesh, Lokesh criticized the previous YSRCP government, describing it as a "psycho rule." He called for unity to drive change and shared a vision of transforming Andhra Pradesh into a globally recognized state over the next five years. “Together, we can achieve this dream,” he said.
Lokesh also lauded overseas Telugus as "MRI" (Most Reliable Indians) rather than just NRIs, highlighting their crucial role in shaping Andhra Pradesh’s future.
On industrial development, the minister engaged with Swiss industrialists, encouraging them to establish manufacturing and R&D centers in Andhra Pradesh. He promoted opportunities in mechanical and electrical engineering sectors, assuring investors of expedited approvals within 15 days. Lokesh also outlined the state’s investor-friendly policies, designed to foster industrial growth.
