Ilaiyaraaja Sues Good Bad Ugly Makers Over Unauthorized Song Use

Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, has performed well at the Tamil box office, with fans enjoying the film despite mixed reviews from general audiences. However, the movie has recently attracted the attention of legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, who has sent a legal notice to the makers.

Ilaiyaraaja claims that three of his compositions were used in the film without his consent and without the payment of royalties. The film’s producers, however, maintain that they followed all legal procedures. Naveen, the producer from Mythri Movie Makers, clarified, “We took permission from the relevant music labels who hold the rights to these songs. We followed all protocols and obtained the necessary NOCs.”

In his notice, Ilaiyaraaja stated, “The use of my compositions without consent constitutes an infringement of my copyright and moral rights. No permission or consent was given, either express or implied, for using or altering my musical works in Good Bad Ugly.”

Ilaiyaraaja is demanding a written apology from the film’s team, along with a compensation of 5 crore rupees and the immediate removal of his songs from the film.
