Relief for Actress Hema in Karnataka High Court

Telugu film actress Hema has received relief from the Karnataka High Court in a case involving allegations of drug use during a rave party.

Telugu film actress Hema has received relief from the Karnataka High Court in a case involving allegations of drug use during a rave party. The case dates back to May last year, when Hema was accused of participating in a rave party at a farmhouse in Bengaluru and consuming drugs. Following these allegations, she was taken into judicial remand.

In this context, the Karnataka High Court has stayed further proceedings in the case. Justice Hemant Chandangoudar observed that there was no evidence to prove that Hema had consumed MDMA during the party. The judge stated that the charge sheet against her was filed based solely on the confessional statements of co-accused individuals.

Hema had filed an interlocutory application seeking a stay on the pending charge sheet and further proceedings in the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case before the 8th Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bengaluru Rural, who is also the Special Judge for NDPS cases. After reviewing her application, the High Court granted a stay on further actions against her.

Currently, Hema is out on bail.
