‘Kissik’ song – Another Social Satire

The main reason for the massive hype around ‘Kissik’ song from Pushpa 2 is not just because it is a typical sizzling item number with groovy lyrics but due to the strong impact of the chartbuster  ‘Oo Antava Mava’ song from the first part.

Besides Samantha’s oozing glamour and blazing dance moves, the cheeky lyrics which unapologetically aimed at men’s indiscreet behaviour in the form of a satire made the song a unanimous hit across all languages.

With Kissik song, director Sukumar, composer DSP and writer Chandrabose once again came up with a social satire as the lyrics are aimed to counter some of the burning topics in the present generation like ‘Bad Touch’, misuse of social media and deepfake culture.

Some of the lines in the song like ‘Pakkana Nilabadi Photo Teesuko Bhujalu Gani Raasukunte’,  ‘Kani Public Lo Na Photo Petti Pachi Pachi Comments Sesaro’,  ‘Kani Faces Geesulu Morphing Chesi Pichhi Pichhi Veshalu Yesaro’ with the follow up hook line ‘Debbalu Padatayi Ro Kissik Debbalu Padatayi Ro Kissik’ (to receive a thrashing) appear to send a strong message against the prevalent menaces in the modern day lives as women often fall victims of morphing, social media abuse and inappropriate behaviour in the public.

Though Kissik song initially received mixed feedback  due to high expectations and heavy comparisons with Oo Antava song, it is now topping the charts due to the foot-tapping tunes and catchy lyrics. It will surely grow on as we approach towards the release date and with the flamboyant visuals and frantic dance moves from Allu Arjun and Sree Leela on the big screen, the song is likely to turn out to be a super hit.
