Uttarakhand Foundation Day celebrated at AP Raj Bhavan
Governor of Andhra Pradesh S. Abdul Nazeer has participated as Chief Guest at the Foundation Day celebrations of Uttarakhand held at Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Abdul Nazeer has said that Uttarakhand is rich in natural resources, and magnificent Himalayas and said that the State is popularly called Dev Bhoomi, the land of gods, due to the presence of some of the most ancient temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, the Char-Dhams.
The Governor said that the ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ programme aims to forge a strong relationship and bonding among all the people of the country, and promote mutual understanding between different States and Union Territories, through the concept of ‘One Nation - One People.
’ The programme commenced with a video message of Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Gurmit Singh, Governor of Uttarakhand, followed by traditional folk dance performance by students of ICON Public School. Students of Uttarakhand studying in educational institutions in and around Vijayawada, participated in the programme. Dr. M. Hari Jawaharlal, Secretary to Governor and officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan have attended the programme.
