Stop campaign for Lokesh as Deputy CM : TDP high command
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) high command has intervened to stop the ongoing campaign by party leaders calling for Minister Nara Lokesh to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The party's central office has instructed TDP representatives to refrain from commenting on this issue in public.
Party leaders have been advised not to speak on unnecessary topics and to focus on matters that concern the alliance. The high command has emphasized that discussions regarding any critical issues should be handled collectively by the leaders of the alliance parties.
Strong objections were raised to individuals speaking based on personal opinions, and the central office issued these directives on Monday. This decision comes after a surge in requests from within the party to elevate Nara Lokesh to the Deputy CM position.
Over the past three days, the calls for his appointment have gained significant momentum. TDP Politburo member R. Srinivasulu Reddy had made the initial demand for Lokesh's promotion on Saturday. The support for this proposal has expanded with several prominent leaders, including former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, TDP spokesperson Syed Rafi, and SVSN Verma, also joining the call for Lokesh to be given the Deputy Chief Minister’s role.
