Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh defended the implementation of the controversial "Red Book" policy, questioning whether there was anything wrong with the police acting as per Red Book and taking action against those who violated the law. Referring to its impact, he remarked, "One person had a heart attack, another broke his arm, such is the effect of the Red Book."
Lokesh made these remarks on Thursday during the Mana Illu - Mana Lokesh program in Undavalli, Mangalagiri. As part of the initiative, he personally handed over the first permanent house patta in Undavalli to Rajahmundry Govindu and Seetha Mahalakshmi.
Housing for the Poor, End of Demolitions
Emphasizing his government’s commitment to empowering the poor, Lokesh stated that the era of demolitions in Andhra Pradesh was over.
He highlighted that the NDA coalition government, within just 10 months of taking office, had initiated the process of providing permanent house pattas in Mangalagiri. He also dismissed opposition claims that houses would be demolished under his leadership, saying such propaganda had been proven false.
He further announced that in Phase 1, 3,000 beneficiaries in Mangalagiri would receive permanent house pattas. Lokesh reminded the people that even when out of power, he had personally funded 26 welfare schemes. Now, as an MLA, he was working to make Mangalagiri a model town, launching the Swachh Mangalagiri campaign to make it the cleanest in the country.
Additionally, he revealed that the government had approved a 100-bed hospital, for which the foundation stone would soon be laid. More than 50 development schemes were being implemented in the region with the support of both State and Central governments.
Taking a direct swipe at the opposition, Lokesh declared that the "Raja Reddy Constitution" had been abolished and the government was now being run as per Ambedkar’s Constitution. He accused the YSRCP of inciting caste and religious hatred and urged people to stay vigilant against their political conspiracies.
Criticizing YSRCP's stance on the paster Praveen case, Lokesh alleged that the party was politicizing the incident despite the victim’s family expressing confidence in the investigation. He further attacked former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, questioning: "A man who cannot answer his own mother and sister, what can he possibly tell the people?"
Lokesh also contrasted Chandrababu Naidu’s governance with that of Jagan, stating, "People now see the difference between a visionary and a prisoner. A visionary plans for future generations, while a prisoner focuses only on destruction."
As part of his Mana Illu - Mana Lokesh initiative, Lokesh has personally taken up the task of distributing house pattas, planning to visit each beneficiary’s residence. The program will continue until April 12.
