India Bloc Protest Against Arvind Kejriwal’s Arrest

In response to the arrest of AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the India Bloc is preparing to stage a protest. Kejriwal was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy. As a result, multiple layers of barricades have been erected, and a significant number of police personnel have been deployed around the BJP headquarters in central Delhi.

To ensure security, not only police officers but also paramilitary forces have been stationed at various locations, including the DDU Marg and the ITO area. The AAP, along with other opposition parties such as the TMC, Congress, DMK, and SP, has formed the India Bloc to challenge the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Members of the bloc will gather at the BJP headquarters on DDU Marg to protest Kejriwal’s arrest and address the issue of electoral bonds.

To prevent any untoward incidents, the Delhi Police have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), which prohibits large gatherings, in the DDU Marg and its surrounding areas. Barricades have been set up, and security personnel are present to deter protestors from approaching the DDU Marg. While the road leading to the BJP headquarters from ITO and Minto Road is currently accessible, it may be closed if necessary.

In addition to the protest at the BJP headquarters, the India Bloc has also announced a grand rally at Ramleela Maidan on March 31. This demonstration aims to further highlight their concerns and gather support from the public.

Overall, the India Bloc is mobilizing to express their discontent over the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal and address the electoral bonds issue. With heightened security measures in place, the authorities are prepared to maintain law and order during these protests.
