Bangalore Rave party : May 21: The ongoing investigation into the rave party busted by the Bangalore police has sparked doubts among the general public. The Electronic City police station officials have named over 100 to 150 “unknown” persons as accused in the case, despite reportedly having evidence, including photos and videos, of high-profile attendees such as film and TV actors.
The FIR listed only five alleged drug peddlers by name, while the remaining individuals were identified as unknown.
The police action followed a raid on a rave party at GR Farmhouse in Hebbagodi within Bangalore limits, conducted by the City Crime Branch (CCB).
The event(Bangalore rave party, dubbed “Vasu’s Birthday” with the subtitle “Sunset to Sunrise,” featured loud DJ music and allegedly continued till the early hours, prompting police intervention. During the raid, authorities seized cocaine, ecstasy, MDMA pills, and other narcotic substances, and confiscated around 15 luxury cars.
Reports indicate that attendees were flown in specifically for the party, and several young women were also brought to the event.
Among the attendees were several influential individuals from the two Telugu states and residents of Bangalore and its surroundings.
Following a complaint lodged by police officer Mohammed Mukaram, a case was registered under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
As part of the investigation, police collected samples from the attendees to determine if anyone had consumed drugs.
According to police reports, more than 100 attendees were from Andhra Pradesh and Bangalore, including over 25 young women.
The party’s attendees comprised DJs, models, actors, and tech professionals. The birthday party, organised by Hyderabad-based Vasu, ran from 5 PM on May 18 to 6 AM on May 19.
Among the evidence found was a pass belonging to an MLA from Andhra Pradesh in one of the luxury cars parked at the venue. The party’s estimated cost was Rs 50 lakh per day, sources revealed.
