Notice to Ramanaidu Studios over land use violation
The Visakhapatnam district administration has issued a notice to Ramanaidu Studios after the studio sought to convert a portion of land originally allotted for film production purposes into a housing layout. District collector said the move violates the conditions under which the land was granted.
The Andhra Pradesh government had previously allotted over 34 acres to Ramanaidu Studios for the establishment of a film production industry and studio infrastructure. However, the studio recently submitted a request to repurpose 15.17 acres of that land for residential development.
Terming the proposal as a violation of land use regulations, the collector stated that a formal notice has been served to the studio, giving it two weeks to respond. “Further action will be taken based on their reply,” he said.
