Hyderabad: April 27: In a notable development, former minister and actor P Babu Mohan, along with former MP Manda Jagannath, finds himself among the 267 aspirants whose nominations have been rejected by election authorities.
This decision comes as part of the scrutiny process carried out by the authorities, resulting in the acceptance of nominations from 626 candidates across all 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.
A total of 1,488 nominations were initially filed by 893 aspirants, with several candidates submitting multiple sets of nominations. After thorough examination, the Election Commission deemed 1,060 nominations as valid for the upcoming elections.
Notably, Babu Mohan had filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate vying for the Warangal constituency. However, his nomination faced rejection due to a technicality involving the signatures of 10 voters whose names were submitted along with his nomination papers. The absence of their marked signatures led to the rejection of his candidacy.
