Singer Pravasthi’s Allegations Stir Controversy; Sunitha Responds with Poise
Singer Pravasthi’s recent allegations against the Padutha Theeyaga team—specifically judges M.M. Keeravani, Sunitha, and Chandrabose—have set off a firestorm of debate online. She claimed her elimination from the show was unfair and alleged instances of body shaming. Pravasthi also accused Sunitha of persistent criticism and stated that Keeravani looked down on her for performing at weddings. Her emotionally charged video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions across social media.
In response, judge and singer Sunitha broke her silence with a composed yet heartfelt social media post:
“Character isn’t built on rumors, and neither is reputation destroyed by them. We remain confident that the truth will prevail over speculation.”
Sunitha addressed the accusations directly, recounting her long association with Pravasthi. “I’ve known her since childhood, supported her journey, and always appreciated her talent,” she shared. “It deeply hurt me to hear such harsh words from someone I held in affection for so long.”
She went on to highlight Pravasthi’s experience in music competitions, suggesting that she was well aware of the structure, song selection, and copyright protocols behind such shows. Sunitha questioned why Pravasthi ignored these facts while leveling accusations, urging her to speak the full truth if fairness was truly the goal.
Sunitha also pointed to her professional support for Pravasthi, including their collaboration on an album video, asking, “Why would someone who supposedly dislikes her give her such opportunities?” She recalled an incident during the elimination episode when Pravasthi’s mother directly blamed her, which she chose not to respond to out of professionalism.
She concluded with a message about resilience and humility: “Victories and defeats are part of any artistic journey. True growth lies in accepting criticism, respecting mentors, and staying focused on improving—not in blame.”
Meanwhile, the show’s production house, Gnapika Entertainments, released a video sharing their perspective, standing by the fairness of the competition and the integrity of the judging panel.
As the debate continues, the situation highlights a growing conversation around transparency in reality TV and the emotional pressures faced by aspiring artists.
