BJP to Announce New National & State Chiefs by April Third Week
BJP: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to announce a new national president soon. It is expected that this announcement will be made by the third week of April. Additionally, new state presidents for Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal are likely to be appointed as well.
The process of selecting the national president will gain momentum after the Parliament session concludes on April 4.
So far, organizational elections have been completed in 13 states, and the state presidents for those states have already been announced. Once the state presidents for the remaining 19 states are appointed, the process of selecting the party's national president will commence.
According to the BJP constitution, organizational elections must be completed in half of the states before the selection process for the national president can begin. JP Nadda has held the position of president since 2019. Although the typical term for the BJP chief is three years, Nadda's term has been extended until 2024.
