A case has been registered against former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, IPS pfficer PV Sunil Kumar, and several other officials based on a complaint by Undi MLA Raghurama Krishnamraju. The Guntur District, Nagarapalem Police have officially taken up the case.
The allegations are serious, with the case being filed against former CID chief Sunil Kumar, intelligence chief Sitaramanjaneyulu, former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and then CID additional SP Vijay Pal for their alleged involvement in the attempted murder of Raghurama Krishnamraju while he was in police custody.
The complaint claims that during his tenure as an MP, Krishnamraju was brutally beaten and nearly killed while being taken into custody, prompting the police to register the case under multiple sections.
The charges include sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 166 (public servant disobeying law), 167 (public servant framing an incorrect document), 197 (prosecution of judges and public servants), 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 465 (forgery), and 508(34) (act caused by inducing person to believe that he will be rendered an object of divine displeasure).
The accused are listed with Jagan Mohan Reddy as A3, Sitaramanjaneyulu as A2, Vijay Pal as A4, and Dr. Prabhavati as A5. Dr. Prabhavati, the Guntur GGH Superintendent, is also accused of providing a false medical report on Krishnamraju’s injuries. Additionally, Krishnamraju’s complaint, which was submitted via email, states that Sunil Kumar threatened to kill him if he criticized Jagan Reddy
