The Andhra Pradesh government and tech giants Google, YouTube, and Alphabet companies explored strategic collaborations on Tuesday to accelerate the state’s technological advancement and digital transformation. The video conference involved Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, and Google Asia Pacific head Sanjay Gupta, among others. The focus of the meeting was to identify opportunities for collaboration between the state and tech leaders, including discussions on digital infrastructure enhancement, skill development, and leveraging technology for efficient governance, according to an official release.
During the discussions, Naidu emphasized the state’s dedication to fostering a thriving environment for technological innovation, stating, “Andhra Pradesh is on a trajectory to become India’s digital epicenter, and we are excited about the prospects of partnering with global pioneers like Google and YouTube.” Naidu also mentioned the state government’s exploration of the possibility of establishing a YouTube Academy in collaboration with local partners to promote futuristic technologies.
The collaboration will involve harnessing futuristic technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, content development, skill development, and certification programs. Beyond the academy, the Andhra Pradesh government and Alphabet companies agreed to further explore identified opportunities. Additionally, Google is poised to establish the ‘AI for Andhra Pradesh, Powered by Google’ initiative, covering AI applications in agriculture, healthcare, sustainability, skill development, startup ecosystem, AI-driven governance, and support to MSMEs through digital credit. Naidu also discussed avenues to provide technical support for the media city initiative in the greenfield capital of Amaravati.
