YS Sunitha questions delay in justice for Vivekananda Reddy's murder case

YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, YS Sunitha, paid homage to her father on his death anniversary by visiting his memorial in Pulivendula. Accompanied by her husband, Rajasekhar Reddy, and other family members, she offered prayers in his memory.

Speaking at the memorial, Sunitha voiced her anguish over the lack of progress in her father’s murder case, stating that even after six years, justice remained elusive. She lamented that the trial had yet to begin in the CBI court and alleged that, apart from one accused, all other suspects continued to roam freely.

Sunitha further claimed that her family was suffering more than the accused in the case. Expressing concern over the deaths of key witnesses, she stated that she had suspicions about these incidents and urged the government to ensure the protection of both witnesses and accused individuals.

Reaffirming her determination, she vowed to continue her fight for justice until the case reached its conclusion. YS Vivekananda Reddy was murdered at his residence in Pulivendula on March 15, 2019, during the general election period.

The previous night, he had conducted a political campaign in Jammalamadugu, Kadapa district, before returning home. Initially, his death was reported as a heart attack, but subsequent investigations confirmed it as a murder. On May 30, 2019, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Before taking office, he had petitioned the court for a CBI investigation into the case but later withdrew the request after assuming power. Following this, Sunitha took it upon herself to push for a CBI probe into her father’s murder, continuing her relentless pursuit of justice.
