The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) faced a setback in the combined West Godavari district as Zilla Parishad (ZDP) chairperson Ganta Padmasree resigned from the party to join the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The move was formalized in the presence of Education, IT, and Electronics minister Nara Lokesh at his residence in Undavalli on Wednesday.
Ganta Padmasree was joined by several other YSRCP leaders, including District BC Cell president Ganta Prasada Rao, Pamarthi Achyut Goud and Reddy Kishore, all of whom also switched their allegiance to the TDP. Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed them to the party by draping them with yellow scarves, symbolizing their induction into the TDP.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh expressed his optimism about the leaders’ dedication to public service. He urged them to remain closely connected with the people and work diligently to address their problems, stressing the importance of being accessible and responsive to the concerns of the public.
