High Court Shocks Borugadda Anil: Dismisses His Anticipatory Bail Petition

The Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed the anticipatory bail petition filed by YSRCP leader and rowdy-sheeter Borugadda Anil on Thursday.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed the anticipatory bail petition filed by YSRCP leader and rowdy-sheeter Borugadda Anil on Thursday. The case pertains to alleged objectionable social media posts for which the Anantapur Fourth Town Police had registered an FIR against Anil Kumar. Seeking protection from arrest in this matter, Anil approached the High Court with a pre-arrest bail plea.

During the hearing, the police informed the court that Borugadda Anil has a history of criminal activity, and a rowdy sheet has been opened against him. They further stated that charge sheets have already been filed against him in two previous cases. Taking a serious view, the presiding judge questioned the defense lawyer, saying, “Is posting obscene content on social media his primary occupation?”

The judge emphasized that such individuals cannot be excused and firmly denied anticipatory bail. “There is no room for leniency in cases like this,” the judge remarked, dismissing the petition.

The police alleged that Borugadda Anil indulged in unlawful activities during the previous government’s tenure and claimed association with Ramdas Athawale, a former Union Minister, identifying himself as the Andhra Pradesh state president of the Republican Party of India. The police stated that he frequently posted offensive content on social media, targeting leaders of opposition parties, including TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and other prominent figures.

Additionally, the police revealed that Anil often used vulgar language against political leaders such as Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh while issuing threats against anyone opposing Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Exploiting his alleged political connections, Anil engaged in extortion and other illegal activities in Guntur city. During the prior regime, police claimed they were unable to act due to the protection and influence Anil enjoyed.
