Former Minister KTR Faces Setback in Supreme Court Over Formula E-Race Case

Former minister and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) faced disappointment in the Supreme Court

Former minister and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) faced disappointment in the Supreme Court regarding his petition to quash the case filed by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) concerning the Formula E-race issue. The apex court declined to expedite the hearing, scheduled the petition for January 15, and clarified that it would not be taken up before the listed date. Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna stated that there was no urgency for an immediate hearing.

KTR had filed a petition seeking an urgent quashing of the case registered against him by the ACB. However, his request for an early hearing on January 10 was turned down. CJI Khanna remarked that the petition could only be addressed on the assigned date, as no compelling reason existed for preponing the hearing.

Meanwhile, KTR appeared before the ACB today (Thursday) in connection with the Formula E-race case. Reports indicate that senior officials are currently questioning him regarding the matter.
