The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has closed the Vaikuntha Darshan ticket counters after issuing a total of 1.20 lakh tickets to devotees. According to TTD officials, tickets were distributed from the early hours of Thursday until 9 a.m. The counters were closed after the pre-decided quota of tickets was fully allotted. The officials have announced that the issuance of tickets will resume on January 13. Each day, 40,000 Vaikuntha Darshan tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at Srinivasam, Vishnu Nivasam, and Bhudevi Complex in Tirupati.
The TTD has clarified that only devotees holding Vaikuntha Darshan tickets for January 10, 11, and 12 will be permitted for darshan during these days. A total of 1.20 lakh tickets for these three days have already been issued. The Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan will be open for devotees until January 18. It was further explained that tickets have already been issued for darshan until January 12, and starting from January 13, tickets will be issued daily for the same day’s darshan.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, a tragic stampede occurred in Tirupati during the distribution of Vaikuntha Darshan tickets, resulting in the death of six devotees. Following this unfortunate incident, TTD security personnel intervened to restore order, and ticket issuance resumed on Thursday morning.
