CM Chandrababu Directs Immediate Completion of Amaravati Bypass

In light of the rapid development in the Amaravati area, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has instructed that the bypass through this region be made available immediately. This initiative will not only enhance access to the national highway for the capital area but also facilitate the transport of materials needed for construction.

The Vijayawada bypass, part of the Chennai-Kolkata Highway, extends from Kaja to Chinna Autapalli, passing through Gollapudi. The Kaja-Gollapudi segment spans 17.88 kilometers and crosses nine grid roads in the capital area. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has constructed underpasses at the intersections of grid roads E-3, E-8, E-10, E-13, and E-15, ensuring smooth travel for vehicles on these roads.

Despite the knowledge of this development, it was neglected during the previous government's term. However, the new coalition government has prioritized the issue. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu identified the absence of underpasses at four grid roads and has determined that they must be constructed without delay. A plan of action will be developed to cut the bypass at those four locations and prepare estimates for the construction of the underpasses.

Recently, CM Chandrababu met with Union Minister for Transport and National Highways Gadkari to discuss this matter. He emphasized that, while the capital's construction activities are progressing rapidly, the bypass construction must be completed first, followed by the creation of underpasses at the four grid roads.

If the bypass construction were to be halted now to focus on the underpasses, it could delay the project by an additional 15 months. Therefore, the decision was made to prioritize the completion of the bypass. The goal is to finalize the pending works of the bypass by the end of June, before the onset of the monsoon season.
