In the first 100 days of Pawan Kalyan taking charge as the Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayati Raj Rural Development Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the state government achieved a world record for organizing Gram Sabhas. On 23rd August, gram sabhas were held in 13,326 panchayats across the state under the name ‘Swarna Gram Panchayat’. Resolutions were made for employment guarantee works worth Rs. 4500 crores.
The World Records Union has recognized this as the largest village governance meeting with public participation on a single day. A program was held at Pawan Kalyan’s residence in Hyderabad, where he was presented with the document and medal by Christopher Taylor Croft, the Official Records Manager of World Records Union.
Pawan Kalyan expressed his delight and thanked everyone involved, including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, state ministers, MLAs, MPs, and local organizations. The program was attended by State Panchayat Raj Rural Development Department Principal Secretary Shasibhushan Kumar, Panchayat Raj Rural Development Director Krishna Teja, Employment Guarantee Scheme Director Shanmukh, and Joint Commissioner Sivaprasad.
