Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has set an ambitious goal to transform Andhra Pradesh into a $2 trillion economy by 2047, as part of the State’s long-term vision. In a meeting with representatives from the NITI Aayog at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister discussed the design of the “Vikasit AP-2047” document, which outlines the strategic framework to achieve this objective. During the meeting, CM Naidu elaborated on the ongoing efforts to craft the ‘AP Vision Document’, which will serve as a roadmap for the State’s development over the next few decades.
He emphasized that Andhra Pradesh is being positioned as a high-value agri-processing hub and a key logistics hub for the eastern coast of India. The CM stressed that district-wise vision documents are also being prepared, with a five-year focus on localized development. Strategic focus areas The Chief Minister highlighted several strategic areas that are central to achieving the State’s economic goals. The plans include transforming Andhra Pradesh into a hub for food processing industries, leveraging its agricultural strengths to add value across the supply chain.
CM Naidu noted that the planning process is being undertaken with a macro-to-micro approach, ensuring that each level of development is meticulously mapped out. In addition to agri-processing, the State aims to develop its logistics infrastructure, capitalizing on its strategic location along the east coast. CM Naidu revealed that steps are being taken to make Andhra Pradesh a center for industries and renewable energy generation.
This includes a focus on skill development among the youth, with educational initiatives designed to align with industry needs. Tourism, healthcare The Chief Minister also outlined plans to position Andhra Pradesh as an international tourist destination, with various cities across the State being developed into growth centers. In the realm of healthcare, state-of-the-art medical facilities will be made accessible to all residents, ensuring a high standard of care. Environmental sustainability is another key pillar of the Vikasit AP-2047 vision.
CM Naidu emphasized the importance of environmentally friendly development practices, which will be integral to the State’s growth strategy. The State also aims to become a model for digital governance, leveraging technology to drive economic development and enhance public services. As Andhra Pradesh embarks on this transformative journey, the Chief Minister is committed to fostering innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leader in India’s economic landscape by 2047, officials said.
