The Telangana Government has prioritized the flood-affected areas. All district collectors have been instructed to assess the flood damage. Following the government’s orders, the collectors carried out a survey in the affected areas. The survey report has been submitted to the government. Officials stated that over 7,000 houses have collapsed due to the heavy rains and floods across the state.

Some of the houses suffered complete collapse while others were partially damaged. The majority of the 7,000 damaged houses are located in the Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts, followed by the Mahabubabad district. Housing officers are currently gathering details of those whose houses were affected by the heavy rains and floods based on the collectors’ report.

The state government has committed to supporting those who have lost their homes due to the floods. Officials mentioned that the first priority in the Indiramma Housing Scheme, which is a free housing scheme provided during the elections, will be given to those who lost their homes in the floods.

To this end, the District Collectors will provide details of those whose homes have been affected to the government. Based on their report, the government has decided to grant Indiramma houses to all the affected individuals. Officials are predicting that the number of affected individuals is likely to increase further due to the ongoing rains in the state.
