Vijayawada: June 7: Neerabh Kumar Prasad has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh, effective Friday. Prasad, a distinguished officer from the 1987 batch, steps into this role following the current chief secretary, Jawahar Reddy, taking leave of absence. The AP government also transferred three IAS officers on Friday.
Prior to this appointment, Prasad was serving as the special chief secretary for the state’s Environment, Forest, Science, and Technology departments. An official release confirmed, “Prasad, special chief secretary to the government, is transferred and appointed as chief secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh.”
Prasad is expected to assume his new responsibilities at the Secretariat on Friday. His extensive experience and previous service in key state departments are anticipated to bring significant contributions to his new role as chief secretary.
On other hand, the State government has transferred three IAS officers Poonam Malakondaiah, Revu Mutyla Raju and Narayan Bharat Gupta.
