Vijayawada, April 23: Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, chairman of APJAC, announced that the Election Commission has issued directives allowing government employees to cast their votes at the locations where they are assigned election duty during the ongoing general elections. District returning officers will set up facilitation centers to assist employees in casting their votes.
Venkateswarlu clarified that the Election Commission has resolved confusion regarding the issuance of postal ballots to employees. Employees can now visit the facilitation center and cast their votes conveniently. He also appealed for a one-day special leave for employees to cast their postal ballot votes, aligning with the procedures in Telangana.
Additionally, Venkateswarlu highlighted that April 26 is the deadline for applying for postal ballots, and employees can exercise their voting rights in the first week of May.
