Tirumala VIP Darshan: Accept our recommendation letters for Tirumala Srivari Break Darshan.

There is increasing pressure on the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) from public representatives of Telangana to allow their letters of recommendation for VIP break darshans at Tirumala Srivari. They want to reinstate the quota which was canceled during the Covid-19 pandemic. Previously, 1,800-2,000 break darshan tickets were given on the recommendations of Andhra Pradesh (AP) public representatives, and 600-700 tickets were given on the recommendations of Telangana public representatives.

However, following the control of VIP break visits after Covid, TTD decided to conduct protocol visits only for public representatives from Telangana themselves and not to give break visits based on recommendation letters. This policy has been in place for the past four years.

Recently, after new governments came into power in Telangana and AP, the pressure on TTD officials from Telangana public representatives increased. Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, during a recent visit to Tirumala, demanded that their letters of recommendation be allowed. However, TTD officials feel that the matter should be brought to the attention of AP CM Chandrababu for a final decision.
